Research Interest
ARSs (aminoacyl tRNA synthetases) are enzymes that ligate amino acid to their cognate tRNAs. Besides their catalytic function in protein synthesis, ARSs play pivotal roles in controlling normal physiology. Based on their functional significance, our group aims to investigate pathological association of ARSs with diseases and to suggest therapeutic value of ARSs as drug targets and resources.
<Specific Research Subjects>
1. Investigation of molecular pathogenesis of genetic diseases and suggestion of possible treatments
2. Evaluation of new drug efficacy and investigation of its molecular mechanism
3. Exploration of pathological significance of amino acid signaling pathways and application to therapeutics
